The LLIONS and the electrodynamics models have a high resolution
plasma plume model embedded in the evening portion of the
models. The plume model has a horizonal and vertical resolution of
5 km. The resolution limits the plume model to producing larger
scale plume structures and does not model bottomside spread F
conditions.
The boundaries of the embedded model are equivalent to
the results from the field-line-integrated results from LLIONS and
the electrodynamics model results.
The run with no significant cross equator wind produced topside plasma
bubbles given some reasonable gravity wave seeding. However, the
second run with large cross equator winds showed no topside plasma
bubbles.
