Bear Lake Observatory Demonstration

A prototype of the RIFS Data Acquisition System is being tested at Utah State University's Bear Lake Observatory (BLO). Near-real time data plots from BLO and archived plots are available here. Anyone interested in using these data should contact Dr. Vince Eccles at Space Environment Corporation.
The instruments at BLO provide near-real-time data to the analysis system located at SEC's Providence, Utah offices. The instruments include:
- Three-axis fluxgate magnetometer providing H, X, Y, and Z component averages
- GPS L1 instrument providing scintillation and position variation measurements
- Canadian Advanced Digital Ionosonde (CADI) providing F-region parameters
This demonstration project was developed through Spring 2002, with data collection continuing through the present.
