These plots have been generated from data collected by the Stanford SID VLF receivers operated by Utah State University. The receivers monitor the U.S. Navy transmitter NML (25.2 kHz) located in LaMoure, ND, and transmitter NLK (24.8 kHz) located in Jim Creek, WA. The NML transmitter appears to go down for maintenance on Tuesdays and signals are unreliable during those times. The NLK transmitter appears to have maintenance on Thursdays.
The receivers are located in Providence UT. The NML receiver gain was changed on 8 February 2006 at about 2000 UT. Settings are constant after that adjustment. The system was relocated about a mile at 0130 UT on 21 June 2006 with a less favorable antenna arrangement, resulting in lower signal levels; the antenna setup was improved at 0200 UT on 5 July 2006.
NLK data collection began on 28 August 2006.
